Silence of the Enablers

A sad story that illustrates the mindset of the enablers:
Vivian Silver is a Canadian-Israeli peace activist and women’s rights activist. She lived on the border of Gaza and together with her group of ‘women for peace’ she helped sick children in Gaza reach treatment at hospitals in Israel. The family of this website’s creator supported their project. In the brutal attack on her community, Vivian¬† and some of these women were murdered, and their grandchildren were burnt alive.

What could be more natural than to expect moral support from your pro-peace feminist colleagues overseas? Many reacted with silence at first and later condemned the Israeli response.

It has gradually become apparent that this is the attitude of most women organizations – with leadership coming from UN women organization.
